I am thinking back eight years for this. I remember liking Gone With the Wind by Mitchell and The Bell Jar by Plath (though I fear that we have different taste). If you like poetry Pablo Neruda is great. He writes in Spanish and his work is romantic. My husband who reads a lot of fantasy books loves Terry Pratchet (I have read a couple) and I find them very funny.

    Jane Eyre
    Eisenhime the illusionist

Try reading the series by Bob Morris. 1) Bahamarama2) Jamaica Me Dead3) Bermuda Schwartz all three are really decent mysteries that take place either in the Florida Keys or on the islands and the hero Zack Chasteen gets into a lot of embarrassing situations that are funny too. Enjoy!!!

Rita Mae Brown’s Mrs Murphy Series of mystery/thrillers–they’re great! They are about a post mistress in Crozet, Virginia who loves to solve mysteries. She has a cat (Mrs. Murphy) and a dog named Tee Tucker and another cat named Pewter. They help solve the mysteries, too. There are fifteen books in the series now. The first one is Wish You Were Here. It’s best if you read them in order if you find that you like them.

    Gossip Girl Series
    Give a Boy a Gun
    Can’t Get There From Here
    Mob Princess Series
The Child Called It (It’s a trilogy, and it’s about child abuse, also a true story)
    Extras (series) By Scott Westerfield
Cassandra Carter’s Series : Kimani Tru

These are mostly about high school issues, and bullying, and real life issues.

Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content. There is also a “Reader’s Choice” list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books.

Also, these: – pick your genre, find the best books ranked by how many awards they’ve won.

    I hope this helps.
