If you are thinking of going to stay in the normal kind of self catering Sussex where the smell of bark mulch fills your nose more than anything else why don’t you look at somewhere a bit more unusual? Well cottages are fantastic places to stay in there is no doubt about that its just you may want to stay somewhere a bit different this year?
Windmill
Well like the title suggest this is a bit of a strange one to stay in but there are many places you can look to stay in one. Many of the best ones are found in France and even have their own swimming pool. Windmills are always great for people that love their history as there are many of them that date way back to the 17th century.
Loch Ness
Many of these places date back 200 plus years and there are loads of places jotted around the gigantic lake. They have of course all been updated now and there are many additional features to these hotels. Tennis courts, golf courses and cricket pitches are available. There are even tours that go along the lake itself, anyone seen the Loch Ness Monster??
A Yurt
This has to be the most unique one on the list simply because when you stay in them it is amazing to see just how much can be sustained from the area around it. The streams around the place provide the water and the sun gives the hut all the energy it needs to be powered and you can always getting your fishing rod and go hunting. Yurts are actually not rare at all but finding one to stay in isn’t going to be easy, the best place to look is likely to be Portugal but be warned most of them are in the middle of nowhere.
So whether you love the smell of compost from a cottage or love going away to strange places, there is always a holiday available to you.
