funniest books
Oh em gee. It’s me. asked:

I love to read, but it hard to find a good book for me. I like to read about love. I prefer if the characters are pre-teens or teenagers, because that’s about how old I am. I like funny books too.
Some of the books I’ve read lately are, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares and Megan Meades Guide to the McGowan Boys by Kate Brian.
My mom doesn’t like me to read about sex, and I don’t enjoy reading it, so if you could not recomend books with that in it, that would be great!
Thanks in advance for recomending! : )

It sounds like you are ready to move up to some more mature classics. Try Jane Eyre, Oliver Twist, anything Sherlock Holmes, Les Miserables, Don Quixote, As I Lay Dying, The Old Man and the Sea, Catcher in the Rye, Huckleberry Finn. As you get older in school, you are going to be reading these kind of books anyway, so get a head start. Most bookstores have a special “summer reading table” in the store just for teenagers. Check it out.

You might also enjoy James Patterson’s Maximum Ride series. The third one came out last week. They are terrific. Pax – C

the rest of Austen’s works are great (though p&p is my fav), and the movies are awesome too (the ’05 p&p is one of my fav movies). Jane Eyre is pretty good, i’ve just started North and South and it’s ok so far. The Little House series is good, though there isn’t any romance till the last three books. Little Women is good but i personally **** the ending, and Little Men and Jo’s Boys are cool too if you can come to terms with what happened at the end of Little Women. The Anne of Green Gables series is great, as is the Emily of New Moon series by the same author. Eight Cousins and its sequel Rose in Bloom (thats the one with romance in it) are great too. If you like fairy tales then the ‘Once Upon a Time’ series is good, they rewrote all the classics (you know, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and the like) for teens and they’re cool. if you don’t mind the books being Christian then try Janette Oke’s stuff. i’m about the same age and have been looking for the same type…..i think i might try Twilight…..my friends say its great and it sounds pretty cool….thanks for reminding me about it :)
    peace

Since you prefer teen and ******* characters, you should check out A Great and Terrible Beauty, by Libba Bray. It’s the first of a series, and very good. And no naughty stuff, so your mom won’t be upset. =]

My daughter reads the A-List series by Zoey Dean, and the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield, but you may be reading on a level above those. If they do interest you, here are some links.

    Hope this helps!

Try Lesley pearse. She has a few books about teenage girls that are lovely stories. Charity, charlie, tara, look in the book shops at hers and read the back. I can’t remember which ones would be more suitable for you, but you can get an idea by having a look online at waterstones or any of the big stores

I would recommend Where the Red Fern Grows. Eventhough it is about a boy and his dogs, it is a great story that will make you laugh and cry. I read it when I was about 9 or 10, but I read it again when I was 33 and still loved it.

try authors Caroline Cooney, Lurlene McDaniel, Janette Oke, Ellen Conford, Betty Cavanna, Robin Jones Gunn, and Ann Martin.
My favorite book in the seventh grade was Hail, Hail Camp Timberwood and I still love it as an adult. It’s unfortunately out of print, but you might find it at the library. It’s about a 13 year old girl whose parents make her go away to camp because she is so shy and shelterd. She grows up. fall in love, and experiences many funny things. It’s by Ellen Conford. Some other good ones by Conford are If This Is Love, I’ll Take Spagetti and Dear Lovey Hart, I am Desperate.

why don’t you try Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, or Sense & Sensibility by Jane Austen.
